Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw (Elizabeth Alice MacGraw) is an American animal rights advocate, writer also a model, actor and author. She has been acclaimed for films like Love Story (from 1970), Goodbye Columbus, (1969), and The Getaway, (1972). She was drawn to becoming an artist was influenced by her upbringing in a New York family of artists. She started as a photographic assistant and then moved on to acting and modeling. The first two films she appeared in, she was recognized as a winner of her the Golden Globe Award as Most promising young actress. MacGraw became a global star after her 1970 movie Love Story, which earned an Academy Award nomination as well as a Golden Globe. After just three short films MacGraw was named as the top female performer film in the history of box offices. In 1972 her hand-footprints as well as her signature were inscribed at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. In addition, she was a part of The Getaway Convoy Players TV Miniseries The Winds of War, and other films. Her autobiography, published in 1991 Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw has been married three times.
