Ina Garten, an American author of cookery books as well as Emmy Award-winning host of Food Network's oldest program Barefoot Contessa that began airing in 2002 has 27 seasons until 2020. Ina started her career as a writer at the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget and other policy papers. Although she initially found it fascinating, eventually she lost interest. Then she bought an Barefoot Contessa a small speciality food retailer. It was a huge success over the course of 18 years until she decided to sell it. After that, she started her first cookbook. There were many more cookbooks, and magazines columns which followed. The Food Network television program also was launched and soon became a hit. The company sells numerous products, from ingredients for cooking, to kitchenware and storage. Ina herself, a self-taught chef, has never studied at the culinary institute or at a hotel. Ina is well-known for her effortless approach to entertainment and simple cooking. Some of her most popular recipes include Skillet with Roasted Lemon Chicken Mac and Cheese, Mac, Beef Bourguignon and cheese, Beatty's Chocolate Cake and Lemon Bars.
