Coleman is from Lancashire. Coleman was head of the class of Arnold School, Blackpool and was awarded straight A's on her A level. Coleman was nominated for Best Actress by the TV Choice Awards. Steven Moffat revealed at a Doctor Who Press Conference on March 21st, 2012 that Coleman was set to portray Matt Smith as the Doctor's Companion after Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and other actors have left the show. Moffat stated that he picked Coleman to be the companion because she could be the best companion for Smith. Also, Moffat noted that she talked faster than Smith. She was more popular on the television. Eva has played a variety of TV roles, but her roles as Dr. Maria Santos from All My Children' and Detective Natalia Boa Vistas of CSI Miami have stood out. In the latter, she even received two 'Daytime Emmy' nominations and allowed her to experiment with her talents in music. Eva is not just an actress, she is an entrepreneur and philanthropist.
