Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada. She is American. She's released over 20 albums. DiFranco classifies her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. However, it includes influences like punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani Difranco has been deemed as a feminist icon and Grammy award winner. Being one of the early female musicians in the 1990s, DiFranco founded her own record label. DiFranco was a born on the 23rd of September 1970, in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Dante Americo DiFranco. Her father was of Italian heritage as was her mother originally from Montreal. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the song 32 Flavors. The track was first released on her 1995 sixth album Not a Pretty Girl. The soundtrack to 1999's Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate is a version of the song. DiFranco made an apology public in 2013, after it became clear that she'd scheduled a three-day conference in an Louisiana plantation.
