Hayley Orrantia (born in the year 1996) is an American actress, singer and songwriter. She is best known as Erica Goldberg from the TV comedy series "The Goldbergs". But, she is mostly as a musician. Music, according to her, is first thing she loves. She began playing with it when she was nine years old. At the age of 12, the music she was playing took more serious form and she started training professionally. After experimenting with writing songs, she recorded the album with songs at age 14. From that moment on she's never ever looked back. Orrantia is a native of America, but has Hispanic heritage. She's proud of the fact that she has Hispanic origins, even though she was raised speaking English only, and did not live in Mexico. Through studying Spanish and writing songs she strives to maintain the spirit of her culture. "Hasta Verte" which is a song with Spanish lyrics which she recorded is a good example. Orrantia was picked to perform for the X Factor's inaugural season, which aired in summer 2011. Orrantia received 4 "yeses" by the judges at the Seattle live audition stage following being selected from her YouTube entry. Though she initially auditioned on her own during "Hollywood Week" the singer, along with three other female singers, were put into a group for the rest of auditions. They were eliminated during the fifth week during the live shows.
